Customer responds:  “I don’t want MY RATES to go up!”

  1. “They can’t directly penalize you, or raise your rates due to a weather related claim. If you leave your “faucet” on and flood your 1st floor, YOUR RATES are definitely going to go up.”
  2. “Whether you file a CLAIM or NOT your rates are going to go up because ALL of your neighbor’s are filing claims.”
  3. “They can’t directly penalize you, or raise your rates due to a weather related claim. These rate increases are based on zip code. Whether or not you file a claim, your rates will increase on average, $22 per year when your area is affected by a storm.”

Rebuttals

Customer Responds:  “I don’t have money for my deductible.”

Response:I agree, a lot of people don’t have money for their deductible.  Do you know “Janet” down the street?  She said the exact same thing and then I met with her insurance company and got them to pay for excess materials that we’re not doing the work on like window wraps or downspouts and that helped cover her deductible. So give me 5 to 10 minutes and I’ll knock on the door and let you know if you qualify.

Referral program

Customer Responds:  “I’ve already signed up with a contractor.”

Response:I agree, a lot of people already have contractors in the area. Do you know “Janet” down the street? She was using a different contractor that missed quite a few storm damaged items like screens, fascia, etc that I found in my inspection. I was so thorough that I was able to maximize her claim for her in a way that the other contractor couldn’t, and she had ASI complete her project. Give me 5-10 minutes and I’ll let you know if there is anything that the other contractor missed.”

Customer Responds:  “My agent told me to get three (3) estimates”

Response: I completely understand and agree that a lot of insurance companies ask to get three estimates. Do you know they do that? Typically it’s to get the cheapest one. As the policyholder, you have the right to choose your contractor.”

Xactimate / Supplement / Depreciation Explanation

ALL insurance companies determine the cost of the repairs. The insurance adjusters use a software called “Xactimate” which goes by the national average and pays Fair Market Value. They put in all the measurements and it kicks out the total cost of repairs. ASI Construction will make sure the estimate / quote that is prepared by the insurance company is fair and / or accurate. This is why we meet with the insurance adjusters at the property to make sure they don’t miss anything or take advantage of the insured, because at the end of the day it’s an insurance companies job to try to save as much money as possible. They are obligated to pay for repairs until your home is back to “pre-loss condition” If they do miss any items that should be on your estimate / quote, our supplement department will send a revised estimate to the insurance company. A lot of the building code upgrades are only paid when incurred, such as (ice and water shield) in the state of Illinois it’s code to install ice and water shield. We will pay for it up front and install so the homeowners does not have to and then we will send in a supplement on your behalf and the insurance company will reimburse ASI Construction in your “Final Check.”

For Example: STATE FARM

Let’s say they pay 10k for your repairs and you have a $1,000.00 deductible.

State Farm is only going to pay out $9,000.00 total.

They will then minus your depreciation. Let’s just say it’s $5,000.00

Your “1st Insurance Check” will be $4,000.00

ASI Construction will complete all of the repairs and send in any supplements. Once all the repairs are completed, we will invoice State Farm and send in a certificate of completion.

State Farm will then send out the depreciated amount of $5,000.00 or more depending on the supplements. No matter what – the homeowners only out of pocket cost is their deductible, which we can legally discount with a referral credit for any friends / family / neighbors and / or co-workers. This example is based off of State Farm and how 9 out of 10 insurance claims will and should be processed.
